A savoury sauce with a sweet fruity finish.  This newest addition to our permanent list is made with 70% locally rescued rhubarb as the base.  The hickory flavour comes from a hickory smoked black pepper.  The hops are from a locally crafted beer.  We selected the Pesky Pig from The Troubled Monk brewery in Red Deer because of the story behind the name.  It was named in honour of a brave and determined pig who escaped from his intended end and was finally 'rescued' and lived his life on a farm.  How could we not choose this one? 

Sold in 250 ml bottles.

USES:  This is a lovely BBQ sauce that adds a combination of sweet and spice.  Use it to top burgers, ribs, pork, chicken and other foods.  It was featured at Delux Burger Bar here in Edmonton for a month.  This Hickory and Hops sauce was matched with their Angus beef burger and topped with bacon, caramelized onions and chunks of goat cheese.  We think it was pretty amazing!!!

All of our products contain a minimum of 60% ‘rescued’ fruit and many have 100% rescued fruit. We do not use artificial flavours or colouring and when additional liquid is needed, we use fruit juice we make from our local fruits.
